Installation PROCESS inVOLVEs six steps
surface PREPARATION
The concrete polymer fabric building material can be laid on any surface. Due to its flexible structure, the material adjusts to the shape of the surface on which it is being laid. Surface profiling and leveling is carried out in accordance with design solution, it also improves aesthetic appearance of the structure. Voids under the concrete surface should be avoided.
UNROLLING AND INSTALLING
The concrete polymer fabric building material is unrolled manually or using a traverse. The material can be cut into pieces of the required size using a circular saw "grinder" or a stationery knife. Sections of concrete polymer fabric should be laid with longitudinal and transverse overlap for their subsequent fastening to each other. The rolls of concrete fabric are supplied to the laying site using a truck crane. To roll out rolls of the material, mounted traverse or stationary rolling equipment is required.
FASTENING THE MATERIAL
When installing the material on a ground surface, the sections of concrete fabric are fastened together using self-tapping screws; when installing on a concrete base, dowel-nails or wedge-spread anchors should be used. If it is necessary to provide waterproofing at the overlap, a special sealing compound is used.
FIXING THE MATERIAL BETWEEN EACH OTHER
Anchor trenches (thrust prisms) should be developed along the perimeter of the surface when fixing concrete polymer fabric building material to a ground. To fix the edges of the material, metal L- or U-shaped anchors made of reinforced steel are used. For fastening to a concrete surface, in addition to dowel-nails, it is possible to use metal clamping strips.
HYDRATION
After completing the installation process of the material, it is necessary to hydrate it by spraying water on the surface of the concrete polymer fabric building material. The minimum required volume of water per 1 m2 of concrete fabric is 15 liters. Concrete polymer fabric building material can also be laid directly into the water. It is recommended to begin watering the material immediately after the completion of laying process. During hydration, the water-cement ratio is not applicable; waterlogging of the material is impossible. For hydration process, industrial water and a hose with a spray nozzle are used.
HARDENING
The initial hardening of the concrete polymer fabric building material occurs within 1–2 hours. During this time, the work with the material can be continued. The final hardening occurs after 24–48 hours.
